Home security tips

In conjunction with your home security system, there are further steps you can take to make sure your home is as safe as possible.

• If you are on vacation or away from home for an extended period of time, make it look like someone is still in the house. Leave a television or stereo on in your home.
• Ensure that all exterior doors have sturdy locks by installing 1-inch deadbolt locks.
• Make glass patio doors burglar-proof by placing a metal pipe or bar in the middle bottom track of the door slide. This object should be the same length as the track.
• If there is a knock at the door or the doorbell rings, check to see who is there before opening.
